Hepatitis

How is hepatitis contracted?

HAV is usually transmitted by ingesting fecally-contaminated food or water. It can also be contracted through oral or anal contact with the virus. Both HBV and HCV are considered to be “blood-borne pathogens,” meaning that they are transmitted through contact with infected blood or body fluids.
