Herpes

Can I have genital herpes and not know it?

Yes. It is possible to contract genital herpes without having any of the classic signs. Either a laboratory culture or a blood test can accurately tell you if you have the herpes virus. Blood tests can also detect the presence of antibodies to the virus, but they are not always very accurate. If no sores are present, a laboratory culture cannot really be performed.
