Hepatitis

If a person does show symptoms of HBV, how long after infection will they show up?

If symptoms do develop, they generally appear an average of 12 weeks (range 9-21 weeks) after exposure to hepatitis B virus. Symptoms occur in about 70% of individuals infected with HBV. Symptoms are more likely to develop in adults than in children.  It is also important to remember that it is possible to pass on the infection several weeks before any symptoms appear.
