Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (as translated by Andrew)

Privacy & Confidentiality

Welcome to the English, not so confusing translation of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
as translated by Andrew , our Community Head Honcho at large.

The Basics

So, we started Positive Friends as a social networking site in hopes of providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment for people who are concerned with STD awareness, and prevention to congregate online, and build extraordinary relationships. We hope to help build extraordinary relationships, and we really think we can do this, but as we all know it's important to protect yourself. With said I urge you to take a few moments to read our Official (legalese) Terms Of Use, and Privacy Policy. What' s that you say? You' re too busy for that? Okay then, I' ve taken the liberty of translating it from Legalese into laymen' s English. I' m currently working on translating it into Jive, Smurf, and Morse code and I will keep you updated on my progress.

Safety Basics

We' re all adults, here, and hopefully we know that when we cross the street, we look both ways, when we go to the ATM, we don' t go in, if the guy waiting outside has a ski mask hanging from his pocket, and we certainly never eat pop rocks and soda in the same sitting. With that said, let' s delve a bit into Internet safety. Firstly, we will never ask for your password, because let' s face it, we wrote the code for this site and we won' t need you to give us that information a second time. Therefore, if anyone asks for sensitive information, please don' t give it out carelessly. Nobody has any business asking you for your financial information, and if you choose to pass along any info please BE CERTAIN that the person on the other end is truly trustworthy, and is going to use the information in a way that isn' t going to leave you begging on the street for next month' s rent. Safety here is paramount, and all kidding aside; we want this to be a safe and trustworthy site. If you feel unsafe in anyway please, REPORT IT TO A MODERATOR IMMEDIATELY!

Anonymity

We have created this site in such a way that you can maintain your own level of anonymity. You can post a full picture of your face, or just your eyes if you like. Anything you post on the site should be considered publicly viewable. We plead with you: if you' re planning on running for president some day, for god' s sake, do not post a picture of your naked college keg stand days, because we can almost guarantee that it will bite you in the ass some day, and when you come to us crying, we' ll just look at you, shrug our shoulders, and say, “Sorry Hillary, we told you so!” Again the bottom line is that we' ve created a site that allows you to maintain your own privacy; the rest is up to you.

Truth, Justice and The American Way

While we have skewed off course from the “Golden Rule” in the past few years, we encourage our members to maintain a certain level of honesty when representing themselves to our community. While we understand that people will round down their ages a bit, and that occasionally pictures get a bit dated, we urge you to please do your best to produce an honest and true representation of yourself. Keep it real!

Scammers

Unfortunately, there are people out there who like to make a living preying off others' good will. While we' d like to think that the world is full of do-gooders who are honestly trying to make their way in the world, there are those out there that will capitalize on your generosity and compassion, and will leave you standing with your heart in your hands, and your wallet in your mouth. Please be wary before your give any financial support to anyone. We will do our best to weed out suspicious characters, but you, as the users need to be cautious and responsible for your own actions.

Privacy

We will always keep our user information completely confidential, and will not share it with anyone!
